Mind your mind (Get out of your head)

Hello lovelies,

Thoughts are not facts!
So don't believe everything you think.

It's no surprise that the devil plays mind games. For the mind is the first place Satan tries to gain access to. He plants a thought & breeds suspicion. He plants a thought and sparks anger about something that is insignificant or doesn't really exist. Disturbing the peace with a troubled heart & agitated emotions. He then uses hindrances & condemnation so you won't hear God's voice.

As believers of Christ we need to remove hindrances & anything that has conditioned us to think that we can't hear from God. We are to cast down such thoughts & reasonings that keep us from the knowledge of God (2 Cor 10:5) & ask God to conform us to His image, His likeness and not the image of those in the world. For the world is not our standard. And that means we don't replay tormenting and negative thoughts in our minds. But we watch what we set before our eyes and ears. We keep watch over our mouths. We seek peace for God is the author of peace and not confusion. And we invite God to renew us daily (make us new again) & restore our minds.

A renewed mind thinks on the Word and an unrenewed mind thinks Satan's thoughts. With that said, the latter breeds doubt, worry, fear & condemnation. Take note of this, Satan rushes you, frightens you, pushes you, confuses you, condemns you and discourages you. God works differently. The former breeds faith, hope, love & conviction.

But here's the wonderful thing, you have authority over your thoughts. You can cast down mental strongholds (lies of the enemy hidden in human reason) and you can bind those thoughts instead of entertaining them. You can rebuke thoughts not aligned with God and not receive them (that is how we take them captive). And then loose thoughts which edify you. For when you choose your thoughts carefully and don't make your mind a garbage bin, then your mind won't have room for the enemy.

Still a little unsure of how to go about renewing your mind?
Here are some guidelines.
1. Spend time with the Holy Spirit and invite him to every place & area of your life.
2. Read, speak & listen to God's Word. I'll say it again, get your mind & emotions renewed with the Word. Declare scripture listen to the audible Bible and sermons regularly. That way you don't fill yourself with filth and junk. Instead you get rooted & remain rooted in God and His Word. Also, be sure to keep your mind under the subjection of the Holy Spirit. So you keep the door closed to the devil & by doing this you will protect yourself against the enemy & remind the devil of it too.
3. Be transparent with God. Confess your sins, pray for one another that you may be healed & restored. James 5:16 says that the earnest prayer of a righteous man has great power, it yields results. So don't stop praying.
4. Lastly, partake in fasts. They empower you & position you to hear & see God move.

Here are a few scriptures that are helpful in this area:
■Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
■Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.
■Philippians 4:6-8 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Meditate on These Things. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
■Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
